Partner-Profile

The company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of integrated bridge systems and nautical equipment such as gyro compasses, autopilots, steering control systems, monitoring systems, radar systems, electronic sea chart equipment and communication (GMDSS) for ships.
In 1995 the Raytheon Company, USA, acquired the navigation business as well as the cinema business from the tradition-rich firm Anschütz & Co. GmbH.
Raytheon Anschütz GmbH has a major share of the market for equipment for sea-going ships and ships for inland waterways. Today approx. 500 employees and a worldwide network of sales- and service representatives guarantee that all ships can be served "round the clock". [...]

The company was founded in 1996 in Flensburg, Germany by Mr. Werner Drews. The start-up base of the company was an RDS-System, a product range which was outsourced from Mr. Drews' former employer, Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co, KG, Munich, Germany.
In the past years, 2wcom GmbH and its team of experienced engineers and technicians specialized in fields of enhancement of wireless digital data transmission and its international marketing. Since the founding of the company, 2wcom has become an established distributor of high quality technological products for broadcasters in nearly all countries of Europe, Asia and the USA.
2WCOM develops products in the domain of FM, RDS, DVB-S und TCP/IP.
At the end of 2001, the Swedish Government tendered the development and production of an Early Warning Receiver based on RDS (Radio Data Systems) technology to warn the population living near nuclear power plants.
The sustained success of 2wcom is based on the fact that the complete "RDS Know How" is clustered in the company itself. All developments, from single boards to the complete units as well as the quality control remains in the hands of 2wcom. This fact as well as the customer orientated spirit does guarantee the success of 2wcom.[...]

The company is one of the leading manufacturers of electrical and fibre optic connectors for marine and offshore applications.
GISMA's scope of supply includes the supplement, installation and support of f/o connectors for signal transmission and power connectors for sensors and tool carrier for the Nordsee Monitoring System project.
The hybrid connectors series 40 will be installed in a first step - to be followed by wet mateable pressure balanced f/o connector series 80 in the next step. [...]

HELZEL develops and produces high performance analogue and high frequency techniques with modern digital interfaces used in signal generation, modulation and signal processing systems. WERA is an Oceanographic HF Radar providing simultaneous measurement of surface currents, ocean waves and wind parameters over long distances and large areas, with good temporal resolution and high spatial resolution.[...]

IFM-GEOMAR was founded January 1st, 2004 through the merger of the Institute for Marine Science (IfM) and the Research Center for Marine Geosciences (GEOMAR).
The goal of the institute is the investigation of all areas relevant for actual research in marine sciences, ranging from Geology of the Ocean Floor to Marine Meteorology. The institute operates world-wide in all ocean basins.
The main research topics are grouped in four areas: Ocean Circulation and Climate Dynamics, Marine Biogeochemistry, Marine Ecology, and Dynamics of the Ocean Floor.
In addition, the institute has two Collaborative Research Centers (Sonderforschungsbereiche) of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, which are investigating the variability of the global ocean circulation and the processes at continental margins responsible for natural hazards and climate change, respectively.
IFM-GEOMAR has a powerful infrastructure for marine research with four research vessels, high-tech laboratories, comprehensive libraries and IT-services.[...]

The productline of the division marine technology contains single probes, multi parameter probes, self-recording measuring systems (FerryBox), stationary measuring stations, buoy systems and by-pass measuring systems in rivers and coastal water.
As technical engineering services measuring containers, measuring buoys, offshore platforms, measuring piles, flow-through-systems with integrated anti-fouling-units or autonomous profiling equipment carriers are developed, manufactured and turnkey ready delivered. -4H- JENA engineering has longstanding experiences and an extensive knowledge in project planning, realization and maintaining of complex measuring networks, data management systems, power supply and telemetry systems.
All projects are realized in close cooperation with the customer.
The company is active in research and development of innovative and long-term stable measuring systems in close cooperation with numerous national and international institutes and universities. By overtaking the division water measuring technology from Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke AG Nordenham in 1993 the product portfolio was extended by innovative and technically proven probe systems. Since this time beside manufacturing and calibration of this proven technique -4H- works continuously on further development and improvement of our product portfolio. [...]

The Research and Technology Center Westcoast in Büsum was founded in 1988 as a central facility of the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel. It pursues multidisciplinary integrative aligned coastal research, especially in the field of shallow water and estuary research. One of the main focuses lies in the dealing with applied, problem-oriented formulation of the coastal North Sea region, including the conversion of results of strategies and course of action for the coastal management.
Focus of the applied research of the FTZ lies in the study of effects of the Offshore Windparks to the marine environment, especially regarding marine mammals and sea birds, the eutrophication problem, projects about hydro- and sediment-dynamics of the coastal waters, changes of the coastal morphology and their prediction with numeric models, the development of new measuring methods for the marine environmental surveillance and in the micro-algae biotechnology. Synthesis of results brings conceptional contributions for an integrated coastal management.[...]

F³: Forschung / Fakten / Fantasie is aimed at promoting the public understanding of science, creating networks between science, politics and industry and conducting fairs, exhibitions, special events and general PR-activities for the maritime sector.[...]

General Acoustics is a high - technology producer of special Echo-Sounders, Water Level and Wave Measuring Systems and the developer of the innovative "Detection of Sediment Layers and Properties" technology (DSLP®).
